About Me I am a multi-faceted and creative person with many talents.
I began my journey into the world of all things creative and beautiful, learning to be a hairdresser. I loved the people. I loved learning. I loved creating. But while I was good at doing hair, forever doing hair just wasn't what I wanted from life. While I enjoyed the glamour, I tired of the mundane. So I branched out....
![]() ![]() I decided that I loved the beauty industry, but it needed more sparkle! And so I added training as a professional Makeup Artist to my list of things I could do. Which was a fantastic addition to doing hair. I was able to put together entire looks myself. Not needing anyone's help.
I worked on styling, wardrobe, colour matching and producing the overall package. And Makeup Artist Freelance work, outside the salon, became busy for me, as I worked for many catwalk and production shows for L'Oreal, Redken, Wella, Kerastase, Joico and more. I did makeup for models for product launches, photographic work and other industry leaders portfolios. I found day to day makeup work slow however. And I was taken under the wing of a Makeup Artist and Nail Technician who showed me how complementary doing nails is, to a makeup artist.
Which led me down a rabbit hole of glitter... swarovskis and huge educational challenges - culminating in my becoming a product Distributor and a Nail Technician Educator, having passed the very strict, international educator exams for Nail Perfect, in 2016 and becoming one of less than 20 Internationally Certified Nail Perfect Educators. I am always learning and upskilling, most recently certifying in Lash Extensions and Spray Tanning as complimentary services to makeup and nails. I also spent many years behind the lens of my camera - as photography was always a natural gift to me. And it was so needed.
While I consider photography a sideline now - it has at times in the past been my only career. And I was lucky enough to have gained many wonderful opportunities to let my creativity behind the lens shine. I am an award winning photographer and have been published both nationally and internationally.
I have been involved in Photography for more than 20 years now and have always called it a passion.
I have had many fashion images published and win both 1st and other placings in national and international competitions in conjunction with award winning hair stylists and makeup artists for hairdressing and makeup competitions. I have photographed my own makeup work, and had others photograph my work and won awards in both.
I have had many images published in various magazines, on websites and in newspapers thanks to the opportunities being involved in freestyle BMX gave me. After my middle son was born, my focus changed gear. I started pointing my camera more at him. Then other people, and my love for stunning portraiture was born.
I discovered I love taking beautiful photographs of people. People being themselves, living life, getting married, relaxing with their families. Tiny precious newborns doing what newborns do.
And to keep my hand in my previous life and industry I exercise my creativeness with fashion and editorial work, competition entries and portfolio images. I love to stretch the imagination and to give people images that surprise them. That they never thought they could get.
I am many things however.
As well as a photographer, I am a mother, I am a designer, I am a motocross rider, I am a creative artist and I have done many things in my life, from which I draw on my experiences daily. Being a qualified makeup artist and hairdresser makes styling sessions and making people look their very best, second nature.
I have reached a stage in my life, where I have the ability to invest in fantastic equipment and a wonderful studio with natural and studio lighting, only minutes from Wellington's CBD. So I have been very excited to launch my creative talents and I am taking things by storm!
Alongside my photography studio is my dedicated beauty studio space where I do nails and makeup, offer spray tans and lash extensions and I teach nail tech students.
