I was very lucky to have this little bundle of dynamite in the studio on Friday, to run rings around me and really give me a challenge! The cheeky smiles tell you exactly how funny that would have been to watch! I am totally sure without Aunty Bec there blowing bubbles till she almost passed out (Thanks Bec!) I would have had far more trouble with this one as he was your very typical active and busy little boy! His constant busyness reminded me of my own little boy who is a similar bundle of energy!
We had lots of fun though and while I was processing these, I was loving the cheekiness of him.... those big sparkling eyes that I am sure were laughing AT me the whole time and all the things about him that make him so special.
The least of that which is that Elijah has Prune Belly Syndrome.
So he doesn't get to live like other children. Which is a bit heart breaking when you have met him and seen what a cute little mischief maker he is.
He spends most of his time in a 'corset' of sorts to help his tummy and body and he travels in a wheelchair - if you go through Lyall Bay you may well have seen his lovely mother pushing this happy wee man around as they don't have a car.
If you would like to know more about Prune Belly Syndrome, then go check out their Facebook Page Elijah's Prune Belly Page and also if you would like to help, as his Mummy is currently trying to raise money to get Elijah the surgery and care he needs that isn't available under the public system, which is leaving him very much at risk!
They recently had a garage sale to raise money and are trying to raise as much as they can for Elijah.
So please, go take a look!
